Farmers and Pizza – TV News Channels Can’t Handle the Cheesy Affair

Nationwide farmer protest is gaining momentum, while farmers from Punjab and Haryana are showing their outrage on the streets. The new farm bill has drawn criticisms from all quarters, even from many friends of the present ruling government. But, a section of Indian media can’t stop going gaga over the central government decision to bring the farm law on the table.

Often termed as “Godi Media” by millennial voters, certain news channels are on the mission to prove the government right again. Despite trying hard, their mission was almost at the verge of a disappoint end till the time they realized farmers are eating pizza. Of course, pizza is an expensive food in India. But, there is no reason to think that only elites can afford pizzas, not the farmers.

Sighting Godi Media allegations on the cheesy affair between farmer and pizza, Diljit Dosanjh (Punjabi actor and singer) has come out a brilliantly befitting reply. Taking a dig on the Indian media, he said that farmers eating poison was never a concern, but Farmers and Pizza is news. After his heated banter on twitter with Kangna Ranaut, Diljit has already won hearts of a lot of Twitteratis. Now, his stern reply to media has once again turned popular among Twitteratis.

The nation-wide farmer protest is not getting momentum from different quarters. Certain section of media is also playing their roles in a professional way. They are highlighting the miseries of the farmers and their demands from the government.

While Indian media displayed their poor taste of journalism once again, Diljit Dosanjh has clinched appreciations from many people.
