Delhi Government Launches e-RTI: Central Should Learn from Delhi and Maharashtra Government

BJP On Friday Alleged That The Government Was “Scared” Of The RTI Act, And Slammed The PM’s Statement Favouring A “Critical Look”

Arvind Kejriwal Launches e-RTI, a transparent action on the Delhi Government Fund:

Arvind Kejriwal has launched a new application to provide better platform to people of Delhi regarding RTI (Right to Information Act). Before Delhi, Maharashtra government has launched it’s RTI application and now for the betterment for Delhi people once again Arvind Kejriwal has done very supportive work.

After launching this e-RTI application now each and every will have right to ask anything and everything from the delhi government and that too just via online

Arvind Kejriwal has taken a step ahead while other parties just talk about right and Constitution but no one is taking any action to provide any such solution and the worst is that if some party or party members will try to do something for public, other parties/people will start leg pulling.

Why can’t we see such steps taken by other parties who always claims to be better than AAP?

One thing has always been noticed in Indian politics and that is nothing but the so called dirty politics. Looks like they all have decided that neither we will work nor we will let you work. if the same continues, how can we expect our country and countrymen to be growing. Why can’t we see such steps taken by other parties who always claims to be better than AAP?

When it comes to talking on RTI, most of the parties don’t even understand and have an idea of how to respond over it but still they will have courage to bark in parliament over RTI. Can’t understand why there is no other government had implemented such option and that might be only for one reason i.e to hide informations from public. But until we have politician like Arvind Kejriwal, who is yet getting all the political abuse from across the country is putting his best tot make sure it finally get beneficial for the public.

RTI Act that aims to promote transparency in government institutions in India:

RTI has always been treated as a revolutionary Act that aims to promote transparency in the government institutions in India. this Act came into existence in year 2005, after many sustained efforts from anti-corruption activists.

The another worst thing politically is that RTI has got implemented when there were Congress party in rule  but still we don’t have courtesy to support Congress for this cause. We people of India is now more of FAN rather than just being public. We like parties who can act better not on ground but on mike and camera.

All government agencies, whether they are under a state government or from the Centre, come under the purview of this Act. For example, Municipal Corporations, PSUs (Public Sector Units), Government Departments, Ministries at the State as well as Central level, Judiciary, Government owned Companies, Government Universities, Government Schools, Work Departments, Road Authorities, Provident Fund department etc. The list is quite an exhaustive one.

Can’t understand why government is still quite on questions asked by common man:

e.g.

How much money is being spent on renovation of parties minister’s bungalows?

What is their telephone expenses or fuel expenditure?

What amount was spent on MLAs’/MPs’ foreign trips?

etc etc.

Poor people have also right to know that  how much of allocated money your elected representatives have utilised on improving their constituency; we  are entitled to ask even a break-up of the amount spent, project wise. This RTI information is available because it is the taxpayer’s money that is being spent here. But sad is that only few ministries and departments making RTI replies available to the public via online and not all.

Is the Central government scared of the RTI Act?

Surprisingly even when these ministries and departments are not giving proper clarity and replies to the questions asked under RTI, BJP government is keeping quite and not taking any action against them.

It seems that their not taking any action is also logical because they themselves are not happy with this RTI act and the simple reason is that their own ministers are going into jail because of this act. Congress also wasted their energies saving their corrupt ministers and the same is been followed by BJP lead current government.

BJP on Friday alleged that the government was “scared” of the RTI  Act, and slammed the PM’s statement favouring a “critical look” at the transparency law and warned that any attempt to dilute it would be opposed across the country.

The government wants to turn its back towards the Act. The government, which has already lost its credibility, fears that it would be nowhere if this Act survives for a long time.

Time to re-rethink people.
