Caradora was created keeping in mind the uncharted advantages of Spirulina as an ecological, nutrient-packed food supplement- especially in the Indian subcontinent. The company cultivates, processes and promotes Spirulina and its uses. So, what is Spirulina? It is a tiny algae that contains extremely high levels of protein and other essential micronutrients, is considered a superfood, and has been historically known to be a food source for the Mesoamericans until the 16th century.
Over the years Caradora has earned a solid reputation across the globe through its high quality, sun-dried and spray-dried Spirulina. Caradora has extended its pursuits to now assume the role of a processor and a promoter for other health supplements as well (which includes super green and herbals) from all over India.
Our Mission- Caradora’s main expedition is to tap into the vast undiscovered health benefits and uses of Spirulina as a superfood among the common population and also incorporate it in day to day regular diet of the masses. Caradora employs a unique closed system, unlike other Spirulina cultivators where Spirulina is grown in open ponds. Hence Caradora yields a superior quality of Spirulina with absolutely no margin for quality decay.
The inception of the Company- While undergoing his graduation, Mr Sunil Sharma came across the topic of Algal farming for the first time. Intrigued by the entire concept of sustainable farming and economic dietary supplement, he closely studied Spirulina and its diverse potential. Thus the story of Caradora began in 2017 when Mr Sunil commenced a pilot project at his own residence and gradually assembled his brainchild- \”Caradora-The Algae Company\”.
Caradora brings forward opportunities to work with local farmers- An elaborate plan where the local farmers in association with investors can build and install Spirulina Cultivation where the company agrees in purchasing all the Spirulina grown by using The Caradora Technology. The farmers in return can receive favourable earnings without having to deal with the marketing and promotional cost. Once certain perimeters and provisions are qualified, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is signed by the investors for a dedicated exclusive supply of dry mass of Spirulina to Caradora.
Caradora Hunger Project- This initiative by Caradora was made with the hope to create real changes and to fight against one of the biggest crises in the world right now- Malnutrition. Statistical reports state that one in four children around the world is suffering from undernutrition and the Caradora Hunger Project initiative employs the use of Spirulina to help fight it, as according to NASA, 1kg Spirulina is equal to 1000kg of fruits and vegetables. To date, Caradora has helped over 5000 children to fight malnutrition in Bharatpur, Alwar, Mathura, Agra and nearby cities in association with NGO\’s and CSR agencies.
After being recognised by Start-up India and the Government of Rajasthan, Caradora began its official journey in 2017. It is incubated under istart program in Jaipur and has received a seed funding of INR 10 Lakh by the state government.
We have a group of biotechnologists who have done years of research and study about productive and contamination spirulina production and we have come up with a protocol that helps the farmers to understand better the farming process.
The start-up helps a farmer from root regarding production, starting from collecting suitable samples for them to the needed laboratory tests to check its nutritional values and other contamination factors.
We assure the farmers whoever grow spirulina using Caradora technology after the proper screening we purchase their products. – Team Caradora
“Currently, we are constantly in contact with Local NGOs and CSR Projects who are working on hunger and malnutrition relentlessly at the grass hood level. Negotiations are under pipeline which will be materializing soon at ground level. Says Sunil Sharma – Founder at Caradora.
