Brainwired, an agritech startup based out of Kochi, the startup has developed a livestock health monitoring and tracking system named WeSTOCK, which uses an IoT ear tag and a unique machine learning algorithm to identify sick and pregnant livestock and alert farmers accordingly.
The WeSTOCK prototype has been developed and is being tested in farms across Kerala. The system is presently collecting data to ensure maximum accuracy at product launch. WeSTOCK monitors the day-to-day activity of particular livestock and alerts farmers in case of any emergency. The whole system is highly customizable giving farmers the ability to choose from features allowing affordability and still ensuring quality.
The technology being built in-house is created to support the farmers and livestock in the country. Their pre-seed round has been funded by India Accelerator in partnership with Alpha ventures, through their Agrikul cohort of 2020, which is supporting promising and growing ventures in the Agri space and Mumbai angels
Our biggest challenge to sustain livestock remains to be improving the productivity of farm animals. The frequent outbreak of diseases has affected the livestock health and has lowered productivity resulting in inadequate availability of resources and technology to fight the crisis. WeSTOCK helps farmers tackle four main issues plaguing the livestock industry namely, inability of farmers to detect diseases at an early stage, low reproduction rates, lack of proper livestock bio-data and unnecessary expenses rising from lack of knowledge among farmers.
With orders to tag close to 2800+ cattle in 4 different cities and another 5000+ cattle’s in pipeline spread over three states brainwired is looking forward to growing at a rapid pace to ensure maximum farmers get the benefit of their solution. The major difference between brainwired and other agencies is that WeSTOCK is an IoT based system comprising of multiple sensors which improves accuracy.
Also brainwired is India’s first livestock health monitoring company which will cater to multiple species of livestock. The data collected from WeSTOCK can actually make the livestock census procedure simpler along with improving her health and controlling disease outbreaks in farms. The system will also increase transparency between farmer and any end user or agency that they cater to ensuring best quality of produce.
