Ever wondered, why a handloom saree or a brass metal gift item you saw or an organic spice you were keen on buying was expensive. It is not only because of the margins charged by the Retailers but the margins charged by various middle men, traders, wholesalers to enable end to end supply chain.
Let’s take a simple example, a bhagalpuri weaver wanted to buy silk he goes to a nearby mandi or a trader and buys through them while the silk procured by him has passed on atleast 3 hands by the time he procured and hence the cost has escalated. Typically, each process involved in Rural supply chain has many middlemen in between and that is exactly what we wanted to solve when we started our journey of Bhasha:.
Bhasha: Life, is a vernacular B2B platform helping handicrafts artisans, handlooms weavers and non perishable agri farmers and processing units to maximise margins while offering their goods at the competitive price. We enable weavers, artisans and farmers to become Micro entrepreneur running their own business by providing them forward linkages to the Retailers, Etailers and Bulk Buyers while also helping them connect to raw material suppliers, processing units, packaging units and logistics partners.
Our platform is aiming to be a dialect based vernacular platform where we want to enable Rural to Rural to Urban communication hence creating better trade opportunities. If you are a retail buyer, Bhasha enables you to procure directly from a Weaver, artisan or farmer with a transparent supply chain where in you have the flexibility of planning in short spurts and long term, changing the buying plan in between if the colors, texture or styling is not working and still be able to help a SUSTAINABLE GROWTH for our suppliers across the supply chain. Typically a fabric buyer should be getting a 8-10% reduction in Fabric cost.
Currently, we work in Silk and Wool sectors in Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and J&K. Our plan is to introduce Silver Jewellery shortly from Rajasthan and Brass artefacts from Madhya Pradesh.
Our suppliers stick with us primarily because of the size of orders we are able to generate, the eco system we create for them to foster and become micro entrepreneur and the Financial assistance we offer for them to have cash flow and on ground support.
So next time, you buy from a retail store a handloom, handicraft or organic agriculture spice or dry fruit look for our mark. One purchase of yours can create the change we want to spur!!
Let’s support BHARAT and its entrepreneurs.
