If you are planning to buy a new Play Station & are still confused between PS4 & PS4 Slim, then this article is for you. In this blog post, We will figure out the differences between both the consoles & which console is worth buying? So get ready for the comparison.
Sony has a history of launching a slim version of it’s every PlayStation & it launched it’s PS4 Slim in September 2016. I am clearly telling you that there is not much difference both the consoles, There is no improvement in graphical fidelity or performance of the console, but there are several small differences. The most considerable change in the PS4 Slim is that it is lighter & slimmer. It just weighs 2.1 Kilograms whereas the original version ways 2.8 Kilograms. The dimensions of PS4 Slim are 265 x 39 x 288mm whereas that of the PS4 base model is 275 x 53 x 305mm.
The slim model gets rid of the half-gloss finish & comes with a completely matte black look, unlike the original PS4. The PlayStation 4 Slim comes with curvy/rounded corners opposing the original base model.

There is one more plus point of PS4 Slim, that it supports 5Ghz Wifi which is faster than the wireless band of 2.4Ghz supported in the PS4 base model. The slim version of PS4 is more power-efficient & offers better wireless audio performance as it supports Bluetooth 4.0. And another plus point is that PS4 Slim features USB 3.1 supports which is much better than USB 3.0 ports provided in the PS4 original.

The slim version is also more power efficient as it consumes just 165-watt whereas the PS4 base model is designed to consume 250 power-watt. But there is one drawback to the slim model, which is the absence of the SPDIF port.
If you are already using PS4 and are planning to upgrade, then I would not suggest you do so as there is not much difference between both the consoles. It will be just waste of money. But if you are planning to buy, then PS4 Slim is best for you. You should go with the slimmer & lighter, PS4 Slim.
